Sara Brookes - Chiropractor in London

BSc (Clinical Sc). BChiro, I.C.S.S.D.
Registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC)

Member of the British Chiropractic Association

Member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society

Background:
Sara graduated from RMIT Australia in 1999 and has worked in Victoria and South Australia before moving to the UK in 2001. Since then she has also worked throughout England and Scotland before finally settling in London. She has owned and operated a successful chiropractic, health and sports injury clinic in Putney since 2002 and set up ChiroPeople (specialising in chiropractic and MRI services) in Waterloo in 2008.

Even before beginning Chiropractic, Sara had a special interest in sporting injuries and completed further training and education in this area in the form of an International Chiropractic Sports Science Diploma (I.C.S.S.D.) in 2006. She is currently a member of the British Chiropractic Sports Council.

With a 20 year history of dance including jazz, Latin, ballroom and recently salsa, as well as 7 years as a fitness and aerobics instructor, she is passionate about helping people reach their fitness and sporting goals. She has worked with the Leeds Football Club (2001), London Rowing Club (since 2002), the Merton Football Club (2006 - 2007) and various professional and amateur athletes in a spectrum of sports, especially runners, as well as assisting the Southampton Sailing Club train and prepare for the fastest race of 2003. Sara also travelled to Sydney in October 2009 to work at the World Masters Games as part of the medical team.

The techniques Sara uses predominantly in her treatments include: Gonstead, Diversified, massage, acupuncture and dry needling, Graston, Kinesio-taping, supportive taping using zinc-oxide, nutritional advice, stretches and exercises, as well as postural advice.

Having experienced health problems in 1991 with stomach ulcers and intestinal upsets that could not be cured by medical treatment (and having sustained head and back injuries through sport), she understands exactly what others with discomfort experience. She believes in the importance of chiropractic care, combined with a healthy diet, exercise and mental attitude to achieving and maintaining optimal health, as this is what helped her regain her strength and wellbeing.

Sara has a passion for fun and adventure and loves dancing, jogging, Bikram yoga, pilates, scuba diving, water and snow skiing, to name but a few. She has competed in dancing, swimming, triathlon and running competitions or events like the British 10km and Run-to-the-Beat half marathon.

Testimonials

"Being a Chiropractic patient has really helped me immensely...lifting weights and seeing a Chiropractor on a regular basis has made me a better golfer. I've been going to Chiropractors for as long as I can remember. It's... as important to my training as practicing my swing."
